BeWater: Successful River Basin Adaptation Conference
River Basin Adaptation Conference was held on between 7th and 8th March 2017 placed in Nova Gorica. This was the final conference of the project BeWater with full title “Making society an active participant in water adaptation to global change.” More than 70 participants were at a conference. It was also attended by stakeholders from the other pilot areas of the project.
The conference was aimed at exchanging experiences on the participation of science and society. It included presentations and interactive sessions on good practices in adapting river basin management to climate global change, while involving society.
On Wednesday, 8 March 2017, we had the field trip. Vipava River Basin was one of four pilot areas of the project. The tour began in the spring of Vipava and Hubelj. We looked conservation zones, zones of frequent floods and reservoir Vogršček. A field trip was finished with viewing of WWTP Vrtojba.
BeWater project concludes on 31 March 2017. The project is running a mobile exhibition, which concludes its way at the Institute for Water of the Republic of Slovenia, which will be on display until 31 March 2017.
